Island Fibers

Island Fibers creates luxurious hand spun, hand dyed, hand woven, and hand knit textiles, garments, and accessories:  rugs, blankets, scarves, shawls, and throws; cozy socks, hats and mittens; pillows, tea cozies, vests, and sweaters.

Inspired by the pastoral landscape and simple, rural way of life in this small community in the San Juan Islands off the northwest coast of Washington State, we use only the softest, finest-quality fibers to produce heirlooms made to give pleasure and comfort for many generations.

Island Fibers also carries a full selection of wool and exotic fibers, yarns, dyes, equipment, and supplies for spinners, weavers, knitters, crocheters, dyers, and felters.  Contact us for more details about these products and our schedule of classes and workshops.  We gladly accept custom orders.

We hope we will see you at our next annual Lopez event!

10 a.m. - 3 p.m. - events free of charge
5:30 p.m. - ticketed dinner prepared by well-known chef Christina Orchid

Back by popular demand, this year's festival will expand to include dairy and fiber goats. The day's free outdoor events will include sheep-shearing and sheep dog demonstrations, and various breeds of sheep and goats to see and interact with.

Inside the Center there will be a sheep-to-shawl demonstration, felting and dyeing demonstrations, information displays from island agricultural groups, and vendors selling island-grown and made lamb and wool-related products.

Popular Orcas Island chef Christina Orchid will present the evening's ticketed dinner, featuring Lopez lamb and fresh organic produce. All proceeds from the dinner and auction will again go to the Lopez Farm-to-School Program.

Stay tuned to this web page for a specific schedule of events, including the time of the sheep drive through the village on Friday the 11th.
